water-walking-ball

This sure would have come in handy for Seafair. Waterproof and airtight, the Water Walking Ball would have kept me dry and mobile on Lake Washington during the crappiest Seafair (weather-wise) I can remember. Be warned, you might have to live up to this if you decide to “roll” with the Water Walking Ball.

If you have been out with me, you already know; I have difficulty taking shots. If I don’t prepare myself correctly, you may get some on your arm as an aftermath. They also have to be prepared correctly. Warm shots? Baby puke in mouth. Thats why this contraption, which chills up to 25 ounces of your favorite liquor at a frigid 10 degrees, will be very handy, both for me and the people standing around me.

Would love to have seen the creative process behind these speakers.
Inventor A: “Got these cool speakers but don’t know what to do with them.”
Inventor B: “Well I got some tubes left over from an industrial toilet I was building..”
Maybe that wasn’t really how it went but it is a crazy concept that may have actually worked in regard to coolness.

Much speculation has come upon the iPad in terms of its optimal use. Is it an oversized iPhone? Is it a mini-computer? Is it the ultimate e-reader? And furthermore, how will it actually be used? Well all of my questions and concerns have been answered! Meet the iCade. Simply slide in your iPad into the cabinet and you have an old school arcade. Donkey Kong never had such purpose.

**UPDATE**

We’ve been duped. Turns out this was an April Fool’s Day joke. Too good to be true I guess.

As a part of their 150 year Anniversary, TAG Heuer has released a new version of its popular Carrera line. I like how it is a little more simple compared to its mainstream counterpart. At $3,900 its a rather affordable luxury watch. However, I think affordable luxury is an oxymoron.

If an indoor pool is on a your wish-list as a homeowner but square footage is an issue, Look no further. Like something out of “O” from Cirque Du Soleil, Hydro Floors has whimsically brought convertible pools home. The “movable floors enable the client to exploit the surface area of a swimming pool by converting the associated terrace or indoor pool room for other uses e.g. recreation, social events, for dining and dancing.” Can someone say dance party/pool party?!

zeal-optics-releases-heads-up-display-goggles

Now this is futuristic. Trending from the head up display’s available on planes and in some cars now, Zeal Optics has created ski goggles that allow consumers to view information directly inside their goggles. These bad boys will display GPS info, speed, altitude and even temperature. My only worry is if I run into a tree because I get too distracted by all the cool visuals Zeal has to offer.

monopoly-revolution

One of America’s favorite games goes through a long overdue facelift. Monopoly Revolution, due out Fall of 2010, features the same gameplay as the original but now has a circular board, updated prices (sorry guys, Park Place will cost you more than $350) and banking done using “credit” cards. The one disadvantage : You won’t be able to cheat anymore and hide a couple hundred underneath the game board.

Not enough to just own a Bentley Continental? Well, if you have $1.7 Million dollars, you can get a bespoke Bentley courtesy of Italian design firm Zagato. Keep your eye out for more collaborations from Bentley, including one with a different Italian designer.

ipad2

It’s finally here the Apple Tablet dubbed “iPad” was introduced by none other than Steve Jobs himself today at the Apple Keynote event.

Addressing the landscape of mobile devices and specifically netbooks Jobs says “The problem is netbooks aren’t better at ANYTHING.They’re just cheap laptops. We think we got something better. AND WE’D LIKE TO SHOW IT TO YOU TODAY.”

This looks like it’s going to be a game-changer. It truly is the ultimate device to have around the house or on the go. Reading the newspaper, watching movies, playing games, checking email or listening to music (on ComingFresh.com) are all great uses for this device. I’ve personally had a 15″ lightweight laptop for sometime now and it rarely leaves my side unless I’m at work. I can easily see this tablet replacing it and becoming my new sidekick.

To compliment the iPad, Apple has announced a fully integrated IBook store. This is similar to Amazon’s Kindle in that you can download books directly to the device to read on the go.

My recommendation is that this is the ideal second computer. I still need a machine that I can be productive on and potentially get some work done. But anything else will be well accomplished on the Apple iPad.

My brother and I got one of these as a christmas present back in elementary school. I remember wanting it so bad, I was nice to my brother for a WHOLE month in order to show my parents my dedication. I would have done anything for one of those… Some things never change. The white one is available at the link below.

Building off the popularity of Chanel’s J12 watch line, watch reseller Project X is offering Rolex watches that have been coated with “Diamond Like Carbon”, and blacked out a la the Chanel J12.  They offer many other bespoke options such as diamonds and other rare jewels.  Since Rolex does not offer this in their line of watches, your only bet to get a blacked out Rolex is to go with a company like Project X.

The newest addition to the Beats by Dre is the Spin DJ Headphones. Tailored for the high demands of professional musicians, they didn’t forget to include an extra ControlTalk cable for controls and handsfree talking on the IPhone. I would have bought them just because they were white.

porsche911sc

You’d be hard pressed to find a more storied automobile than the legen… wait for it… dary Porsche 911. This year at the Frankfurt Motorshow the brand new limited Edition Sport Classic will be unveiled. With a double bubble roof panel, ducktail spoiler, wider stance ground effects and an extra 23 horses. I’d say something about how beautiful this car is, but words escape me. Only 250 will be produced and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t checking my 401k to see if there’s been some sort of mistake which would let me be one of those 250.

Thanks Curneen for the link.

lexus-lf-a

You know that kid in high school who had the lowered honda with the tinted windows, chrome rims, and a stereo that made the earth quiver? For that kid, I present the Lexus LF-A. It’s the first released Lexus Concept Car. Five inches shorter than the Porsche 911 Turbo (996), with a 4.8L V10 and over 550hp; this beast is nimble and fast.

Clearly it’s easy to see that there are design components borrowed from the Ferrari F430, Nissan 370z and Lexus IS-F, but the end result is a futuristic and aggressive demeanor.

Thanks Brian R for the link.

I saw this and Seafair fairies began to dance in my head. Boasting 10 seats, a central charcoal grill and a 500 watt satellite radio stereo system, the Interactive Recreational Entertainment Vessel is legit. And with a retractable umbrella, you can take this out rain or shine!
