Last month Lil’ Wayne put down a classic acoustic performance for MTV’s Unplugged. This is a must see for any hip-hop fan. On par with some of the best Unplugged performances I’ve seen. Wayne has a gift for making the crowd feel his music. If you only have time to see one song, check out “Drop the World”. Anyways, I’m watching this masterpiece of a performance and can’t stop noticing that Wayne has some dope sunglasses on. I tracked them down. See below. Now you’re only $54, jeans that pull down to your knees and a white-tee away from swagger like one of the greatest rappers of all-time.

IN 2011, EXPECT IMPROVED LENS QUALITY, NEW COLORWAYS & FRAMES, MADNESS IN JAPAN, AND OF COURSE, MORE BEER.

I have always had an affinity to the Nike Dunks. They have a timeless design that doesn’t get old. Nike must know they have a good thing as well. Adding the modern Hyperfuse technology to the Dunk, Nike still remembers to keep the classic lines untouched. A one piece, no seam construction make the Hyperfuse concept unique and I am excited to get my hands on these.

Oh, these fancy, huh? In all actuality, there isn’t much fancy-ness to them besides sharing a name with the rapper. The simplistic design is what drew my attention to these shoes and appeal to the simple side of me. And at a price of $90, its quite simple on your wallet as well.

The days are getting longer and the weather is getting warmer. Summer is rearing its beautiful head out and these are a perfect accessory to those hot days out in the sun. The mesh upper gives an updated take on the classic All-Stars. You can get your hands on them at converse.com and if you use promo code CHUCKS17 you will get 20% off.

Among the many traits that Jay-Z has mastered, one that I am most enviable of (other than snagging Beyonce) is his wardrobe. Most recently I was watching some footage of Jay-Z and noticed his kicks. After searching the vast interweb I found Radii Footwear, the makers of Hov’s shoes. I was pleasantly surprised with their creative lineup and affordable costs. Check’em out.

If you are in search for an awesome rain jacket, (I know fellow Seattleites always are and our friends in LA might need them more then we do now) look no further. The Patagonia M10 jacket boasts a waterproof, water-resistant and windproof shell all weighing in under 11 oz. Try that on for size.

It has been awhile since I have seen something this out of the box compared to the standard Chuck Taylor hi-top. Alejandro Ingelmo is relatively new to the game, releasing his first collection in 2006. Lets hope he keeps putting out refreshing stuff like this.

An interesting concept in an attractive package, the Sonic Fabric Neckties blend modern, skinny-tie style with actual recorded audio tape from recycled cassettes. The craziest part yet? The ties will actually emit music if a tape head is ran across the fabric.

Always loved the Nike Dunks (Hi’s and Low’s) and to introduce a canvas version is dope. If you want to get these limited editions and are in Seattle, you are in luck. They are available on September 29th at GOODS.

Summer’s almost over and the sandals and swimtrunks are going to have to go back into the closet sooner than we’d all like. That being said, we should all strive to spice up the indespensable chuck and jeans combo with something like the Paul Smith - Aki White/Navy sneakers. Guaranteed to set you apart from those with style dictated to them by Maxim magazine.
Dave S. gets props on finding this one.

I first came across The Sartorialist during my regular reading of GQ magazine. Scott Schuman’s images depicted the work of a seasoned editor. It was to my surprise that his initial photographs were created solely for his blog as a hobby and it was his passion for fashion that catapulted him to become a force in the industry. Time magazine listed him as one of the top 100 design influencers. It just goes to show; if you are passionate about something, the world will take notice. “The Sartorialist” the book has a release date of August 12th in a paperback edition as well as a limited edition hardcover.

A collaboration between Jeff Staple (Staple Design) and New Balance produces the White Pigeon. I have always been a fan of the 575’s and the colorway only strengthens my admiration. Pic via mentalkicks.com.

I am really digging these hybrid loafers. The look of sophistication with a hint of athleticism. Perfect for summer day with khaki’s or shorts. Interested to see if they are comfortable or not.

Back from a long hiatus and so much has happened. We returned from a most incredible trip to Hawaii and witnessed my brother marry the love of his life. After such an exuberant celebration, we touch down on the mainland to find out that one of my all-time idols, Michael Jackson, had passed away. The juxtaposition between events could not have been greater. Initially, I was in a state of denial. We would hear from him/about him sporadically as a reminder that he was still there, but this final “breaking news” would inform us that he wasn’t. It took awhile for the gravity of the news to set in and it wasn’t until I started to watch old footage of his performances and appearances did I finally realize we wouldn’t get to witness that again. He was mesmerizing on stage and intriguing off of it. There was an interview in which he stated that “Childhood” was his most autobiographical song he has ever written. In the song, he laments about a childhood he missed out on and pleads, “before you judge me, try hard to love me.” After listening to it again, I couldn’t help but feel sympathetic and trapped for him at the same time. Michael Jackson was not ours to have, but he gave us everything he had. Its really sad that it took his passing for the media to reflect on the positive things that he contributed to our world. My hope is that Michael is remembered and loved as the amazing entertainer that he was and not judged as the monster the media made him out to be.

BAPE has announced a release of 18 new plaid caps that feature a mesh back. I know the trucker hat has come and gone but this might be different enough to get some play. Limited to only its stores, unless you are in New York, Los Angeles or Japan, good luck getting your hands on these.

A preview of the upcoming Fall/Winter Hayworth Mid by Y-3. Y-3 is Adidas’ high end collection designed by Yohji Yamamoto. The new shoes come in 3 different colorways and exhibit a different leather upper than their previous release.

Originally produced specifically for divers to withstand salt water and one handed release, Fedaboa is now making fashionable pieces available to the public. At roughly $60, it may be a little steep for a plastic belt but if its good enough for a diver, its good enough for me.

FRAT and Mita Sneaker team up in collaboration with New Balance to produce a new take on the classic 576’s. You don’t normally find skull graphics and purple lining on New Balances but in this case, you do.

Supra plans to unveil the Skytop 2 in July at the Agenda tradeshow. I have been a big fan of the original Skytops and I am excited to see what they have in store for us.

In support of the Power To The Planet Campaign, launched to raise environmental awarness, Element is releasing sneakers made out of bamboo. Due out this Spring.
