Among the many traits that Jay-Z has mastered, one that I am most enviable of (other than snagging Beyonce) is his wardrobe. Most recently I was watching some footage of Jay-Z and noticed his kicks. A preview of the upcoming Fall/Winter Hayworth Mid by Y-3. Y-3 is Adidas’ high end collection designed by Yohji Yamamoto. The new shoes come in 3 different colorways and exhibit a different leather upper than their previous release.

FRAT and Mita Sneaker team up in collaboration with New Balance to produce a new take on the classic 576’s. You don’t normally find skull graphics and purple lining on New Balances but in this case, you do.

Supra plans to unveil the Skytop 2 in July at the Agenda tradeshow. I have been a big fan of the original Skytops and I am excited to see what they have in store for us.

A collaboration between Undefeated and Converse has produced the Poorman Weapon. Originally released during January in black, the shoe was well received. A new colorway, olive green, will be released on May 16th to coincide with Armed Forces Day. Exclusively sold at UNDFTD stores.

When Pony shoes are mentioned the first thought conjured is the City Wings on Spud Webb’s feet in the ‘86 slam dunk contest. Giuliano Fujiwara gives us a preview of their fall sneakers. They definitely have a distinct modern look with the hidden laces and minimal lines.

In an effort to update the classic Air Max 90’s, Nike has released a version using its new flywire technology. The shoe also uses the free sole application. These should be available early April ‘09.

Getting its inspiration from the Nintendo Wii, Nike introduces a new colorway of the classic Nike Air Force II. The shoe includes clear plastic as well as an image of the power button on the tongue. Last year, Converse revamped their classic Jack Purcell sneakers with updated designs and patent leather to go along with their iconic rubber toe. It looks like this year they are aren’t slowing down and have produced another update featuring perforated leather. I am digging the white ones… of course.

Once again straying away from its athletic origin, Adidas’ SLVR line promises a minimalist approach to its clothing and footwear. The simple design is exactly what I like from these sneakers.
