I know we have been posting a lot of Kid Cudi lately but he keeps putting out ridiculous hits. A classic Kanye beat backs the track. Kanye and Common both contribute a couple bars to this song and DJ A-Trak adds the record scratching. Borrowing the hook from Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face”, Cudi remixes it into a piece that is as catchy as a spider web near some hot garbage.

Okay here’s the deal. Put on your best headphones, close your eyes, hit play and let this beat take you somewhere else. It’s crazy. I love it.

Rumored to be a track off the much anticipated Detox album, this sounds like a classic Dr. Dre song. The unfortunate part is, Dre isn’t even on it! The first verse, rapped by TI, sounds like it was written for Dre with lyrics pertaining to his days with N.W.A. and his fallen friend, Eazy-E. The song hits hard though.

LCD Soundsystem has been blowing up the Dance/Electronic scene in the UK since 2002. As a friend would say, it’s just what you’d expect to hear in an LA lounge bar. Their sound reminds me of a mellowed out Daft Punk. Check them out and Kid Cudi’s sample of this song on his most recent mixtape.

There has been quite a buzz surrounding MC Asher Roth as an up and coming star in the Hip-Hop world. One listen to “I Love College” and you understand what the hype is about. A self proclaimed rapper from the ‘burbs, Roth’s verses conjure up all too familiar memories of what college was like. Couple the song with the video and I can picture myself in the background yelling, “Do something crazy! Do something crazy!”
Amazing performance by T.I., Kanye West, Lil’ Wayne, Jay-Z and M.I.A. (aka the “Rap Pack”.)

Sometimes songs can just put you in a good mood. This one is from the group Classic & 86. I first found this song in the movie Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle while I was… eating a sandwich.
“‘Cause her body’s callin. True. Cups overflowin’. True. Big guns is smokin’. We gon’ get open. Feel like Ooooh Oooh Oooh!”

Colin Munroe is definitely a fresh sound. Asked to define his music, Colin states “It’s a bit of a mish-mash of Rock, Pop, Soul and Hip-Hop. It doesn’t fit in one particular box, but it can get along with most people.” Recently wrapping up a tour with Kid Cudi, Wale and Mark Ronson, Colin Munroe is destined for a bright future.

I Know What You Like! from Ryan Leslie on Vimeo.
Ryan Leslie has been making some of the most radio friendly beats for years now. Collaborating with artists such as Cassie, Beyonce Knowles, Snoop Dogg and Nina Sky to name a few. Leslie has since moved into singing, but he can definitely still throw down a beat. Watch him create this hip hop jam.
