Last month Lil’ Wayne put down a classic acoustic performance for MTV’s Unplugged. This is a must see for any hip-hop fan. On par with some of the best Unplugged performances I’ve seen. Wayne has a gift for making the crowd feel his music. If you only have time to see one song, check out “Drop the World”. Anyways, I’m watching this masterpiece of a performance and can’t stop noticing that Wayne has some dope sunglasses on. I tracked them down. See below. Now you’re only $54, jeans that pull down to your knees and a white-tee away from swagger like one of the greatest rappers of all-time.

If you are in search for an awesome rain jacket, (I know fellow Seattleites always are and our friends in LA might need them more then we do now) look no further. The Patagonia M10 jacket boasts a waterproof, water-resistant and windproof shell all weighing in under 11 oz. Try that on for size.

An interesting concept in an attractive package, the Sonic Fabric Neckties blend modern, skinny-tie style with actual recorded audio tape from recycled cassettes. The craziest part yet? The ties will actually emit music if a tape head is ran across the fabric.

I first came across The Sartorialist during my regular reading of GQ magazine. Scott Schuman’s images depicted the work of a seasoned editor. It was to my surprise that his initial photographs were created solely for his blog as a hobby and it was his passion for fashion that catapulted him to become a force in the industry. Time magazine listed him as one of the top 100 design influencers. It just goes to show; if you are passionate about something, the world will take notice. “The Sartorialist” the book has a release date of August 12th in a paperback edition as well as a limited edition hardcover.

Back from a long hiatus and so much has happened. We returned from a most incredible trip to Hawaii and witnessed my brother marry the love of his life. After such an exuberant celebration, we touch down on the mainland to find out that one of my all-time idols, Michael Jackson, had passed away. The juxtaposition between events could not have been greater. Initially, I was in a state of denial. We would hear from him/about him sporadically as a reminder that he was still there, but this final “breaking news” would inform us that he wasn’t. It took awhile for the gravity of the news to set in and it wasn’t until I started to watch old footage of his performances and appearances did I finally realize we wouldn’t get to witness that again. He was mesmerizing on stage and intriguing off of it. There was an interview in which he stated that “Childhood” was his most autobiographical song he has ever written. In the song, he laments about a childhood he missed out on and pleads, “before you judge me, try hard to love me.” After listening to it again, I couldn’t help but feel sympathetic and trapped for him at the same time. Michael Jackson was not ours to have, but he gave us everything he had. Its really sad that it took his passing for the media to reflect on the positive things that he contributed to our world. My hope is that Michael is remembered and loved as the amazing entertainer that he was and not judged as the monster the media made him out to be.

BAPE has announced a release of 18 new plaid caps that feature a mesh back. I know the trucker hat has come and gone but this might be different enough to get some play. Limited to only its stores, unless you are in New York, Los Angeles or Japan, good luck getting your hands on these.

Originally produced specifically for divers to withstand salt water and one handed release, Fedaboa is now making fashionable pieces available to the public. At roughly $60, it may be a little steep for a plastic belt but if its good enough for a diver, its good enough for me.

With colder weather hopefully leaving us soon (hint, hint mother nature), retire that wool scarf and try stepping it up a notch with a Tom Ford Foulard or more commonly known as an ascot. I mean, Ashton Kutcher does it, why can’t you?

Spring has arrived and the sun is starting to peek its little head out. In preperation of the sunny days on the water, we present you LV’s Spring/Summer collection. My favorite are the Evidence frames (above) which are similiar to the Millionaire model that Pharrell and Nigo produced a few years back.

The North Face steps out of its solid color comfort zone and produces a coat that is fresh. The Swallow Tail Jacket comes with a checkered and is available in two different colors. Coming soon to a retailer near you.

In the everlasting search to find the perfect raincoat, Aspesi offers up their version. The Full Length jacket is a double breasted coat with cinched cuffs and a great fit.

Summer is slowly approaching (can it get here any sooner?!) and a good pair of shorts are in order. Enter the Neil Barrett Trouser Shorts I have seen suits outfitted with shorts on the runway, and though I can’t say I could pull that off, having a nice pair of shorts made of fine fabric will differentiate you from the next cargo wearing dude.

If you have wondered what it is like to be Batman, (and lets face it, who hasn’t?) wonder no more. This hoodie infuses the graphics of the new Batman, complete with utility belt and mask, onto a cool hoodie complete with a zip up hood. You might get made fun of but remember, the ladies always love a superhero.

From just being in the UK, I noticed that clean, fitted top coats and trench coats were a constant staple in the day to day life of a London bloke. This Shipley & Halmos Trench coat fits all the specifications of something you would see traveling the streets of Kensington.

Fresh out the gate is this leather jacket from designer Rick Owens. The loose collar and gradient design creates a distinct look that is on the cutting edge. Pockets on each shoulder make it functional as well. Available at Oki-Ni after the link.

I am starting to question Al Gore’s theories on global warming because, the weather definitely hasn’t warmed up in the Northwest. The good news is, you get to keep wearing/acquiring coats to keep you comfortable. This Balenciaga Pique Coat is one to snatch up. A left breast pocket accompanies two front pockets in this slim fitting jacket.

Getting its inspiration from the 50’s 3D glasses, these Tri-Block sunglasses are definitely fresh. Is it time to put the aviators away? Stay tuned.

Usher recently rocked these at the Presidential Inauguration (see previous post) and now they are adding an ivory colorway for this year’s collection. Available soon.
